Editor - Media Publishing & Events Business

Our client, a leading force across their respective sectors are looking for an experienced Editor to join their team.

Editor:

Working across print, digital and live events the business provides news and insight for their global community which is where you will come in.

They now require an additional Editor/ journalist to join who relishes the challenges of operating across all these platforms.

Their core audience are senior executives across the globe who rely on the business information, not technical coverage. In 2020 they we will continue to produce sector leading content alongside an increasing live event program.

Editor - The Role:

As with many B2B publishers, their events business is now an important revenue stream, and so they expect the editorial role to reflect this.

It will include, but not be limited to:
 
• Writing short news articles ( 400-9250 words)
• Content for commercial partners
• content to support their events, including interviews and profiles
• Supporting the marketing team with content
• Leading on the defining of award categories and criteria
 
- SOCIAL MEDIA - They are active on platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. They expect the editor to enhance and develop their social media presence.

- VIDEO - most video is produced at their own events and is created to support their sponsors and for use in marketing. This role will include presenting / interviewing for video.

- LIVE EVENTS - They will expect this role to encompass chairing some events or sessions at their conferences (and in the virtual world, webinars) and taking part in judging for their awards.

- INSIGHT & SUPPORT - editors are well connected with the industry and should use this knowledge to help steer themselves and potential commercial partners. You should on occasion accompany the sales team for some meetings.

This role will be Truro office based, but will involve extensive travel to our own events and other industry events on a global basis.

THE PERSON - Editor

Although we do not require formal qualification as a Editor/ journalist, we do expect the following:

Strong undergraduate degree (minimum) in a business or technically focused discipline

Minimum two years editorial experience

Flexible approach and a can-do attitude

Willingness to travel internationally as required

Proven ability to write quick and accurately

Confident approach and mature persona

Ability to work effectively independently
